THE ART GLASS SERIES “CASCADE”, PER LÜTKEN
Glass Historic Association has created a temporary exhibition of Per Lütken’s art glass series “Cascade” from around 1970. The series is blown by mouth and hand-shaped and contains many forms such as vases and bowls. The series became an expression of new utilization of the special translucence and deep glow of the glass colours and represents an abundance of colour combinations.
Per Lütken (1916-1998) was the unsurpassed master of Danish glass design and one of Holmegaard’s most advanced glass designers. He worked for Holmegaard Glassworks from 1942 until his death and has blown life into more than 3000 glass designs. Many of his series have become classics and synonymous with the quality characterizing Holmegaard.
